Camp-ISTRY

Join Camp-ISTRY NOW!
Camp-ISTRY is the event for School of Information Technology (S.I.T.) Year One students.
This is a fun and exciting camp that allow you to make more friends from various courses. It will inspire and vitalize you with essential skills. This camp aims to provide a holistic learning experience as we emphasize the importance of working as a team. This camp would definitely be a memorable and lasting event for you and your friends. Most importantly, this camp aims to let you have fun, let your hair down and take a break from the stressful school life.
Date: 18th & 19th December 2008 Time: 9am to 6pm (No overnight required) Venue: Block L Level 4

I believe everyone enjoyed themselves one way or the other and have learnt more about each other during Camp-ISTRY. Even though the number of participants wasn't what we have expected, we still manage to put on a good show. But I believe we can SURELY/DEFINITELY improve ourselves and the quality of the events in the future. We just have to keep reminding ourselves what we lack of and I believe everyone knows it by now. =) Good luck for the upcoming events and may WE have a wonderful year ahead.

Congratulations to CAMP-ISTRY committee for this successful event. After the event I can see that all the participants enjoyed the camp a lot. Personally I think that one of the factor that the why participants enjoyed that camp is the games. The games are really fun and bond the participants together too. Although the responds is not what we have expected initially, all of the EXCOs and helpers do their best in the full 2 days camp and let the participants enjoy the camp to their fullest. =) Let’s all continue the good effort in organizing more interesting events in the near further for NYP students. Personally as one of the in-charge of the event, I felt that it was a success even though the attendance of the campers is not satisfactory. But it’s true that the campers who came really enjoy themselves throughout the camp and that is what we want to achieve for this camp event. I'm therefore proud to be the In-Charge and definitely proud of my Camp-ISTRY crews who make this camp possible.

Despite many obstacles faced, I’m very happy that Camp-ISTRY is still able to carry out as planned. Low attendance rate did not dampen the Camp Facilitators and Campers’ spirit. In fact, it made us more bonded! The games were challenging and enjoyable. Logistics did a good work in getting everything ready! Nice design from publication! Even though there were many last minutes changes, I am glad that everyone did what they are supposed to do without much complaint. I would like to thank everyone who had contributed the Camp-ISTRY in one way or another. Thanks for helping to make Camp-ISTRY a success! “Take the plunge! Let’s have fun!”

Camp-ISTRY is a success! Through this event we do our best with everything that we've got in hand. Likewise, we manage the event well and get to work together even better I believe. In addition, I get to experience a different role in this event's committee which is as one of the game master for the camp.
We can achieve anything when we have a common goal!

Camp-ISTRY was completed successfully even though things did not go the way we planned. As a game master, I reached my goal by letting the participants had fun during the camp. It may be tiring, but after looking at their happy faces gives me energy to continue. The ICs did a great job by keeping track of time and that is actually what we needed, if not time will overrun. To the other camp facilitators, you guys did a great job! Without your help, the flow of the games will not be played properly. Thank you all.

Camp-ISTRY has made me know more people in other parts of the IT school and also the OGLS. I enjoyed myself especially when we get along together in the games. The games that I participated in were more challenging than what I have expected. Fun, laughers and joy was felt throughout the games. Having the event overnight would have made the event more enjoyable. (With participant arriving punctually) Even though there were some misunderstandings during the games, the OGLs did their best to resolve it. Last but not least thanks to all OGLs for making it a fun and enjoyable camp.
